We love the chika idol scene. Especially the groups with a bit of edge.

Which is why we love Thai chika idol group AKIRA KURØ.

These fierce, unrelenting idols blend metalcore and alternative rock to bring to life a stage that is unlike any other. Their highly distinct creative direction and bold expression of identity is heavily inspired by prominent Japanese acts like BiS and PassCode.

In a monumental next step for AKIRA KURØ, they will be proudly making history this week as the first-ever Thai chika idol group to hold a full-scale solo concert. This full bandset will take place in Guangzhou, China on Friday the 10th of July.

The “UNBROKEN” One Man Live, titled to reflect the group’s unyielding spirit and their resilience against any obstacles faced throughout their 8 year career. You can catch it MAO Livehouse Guangzhou (广州中大店二号馆), a suitably iconic destination that has hosted numerous legendary live music acts.

The stage will also be set ablaze by top-tier opening acts, featuring the vibrant yet cool energy of MaruZ and the fierce intensity of Rever, before AKIRA KURØ takes over for their headline set.

This is a historic milestone proving beyond doubt that alternative music and idol culture from Thailand possess international potential. Let us send our encouragement and support to Thailand’s own AKIRA KURØ as they showcase their true power on the global stage!
