There aren’t more coordinated fandoms than BTS’s following. Known as ARMY, the fans of the South Korean boyband are as passionate as they are loyal and with the Australian dates for the group’s tour being announced last week, the conversation has turned to how conglomerate Ticketmaster are handling the sales.

Unlike in Asia and other major hubs, ticket prices for the Australian shows have yet to be released. Like many shows handled by LIVENATION/Ticketmaster, it is a fear that the real prices will not be known to fans until day of sale.

In an open letter to the Ticketmaster (and LIVENATION), Australian BTS fans have addressed the importance of transparency when it comes to the huge financial investment that attending concerts has become in the year 2026.

With four dates spread out over two cities, a great many of ARMY will not only be footing the cost for tickets, but they will also have to invest in travel expenses, accommodation costs, work arrangements and other costs associated with having to travel to attend.

In their statement, they present the argument that by not releasing prices till ticket sales are open, it creates a high-pressure environment that will encourage impulsive spending behaviours.

They are also requesting a breakdown of VIP Packages, other fees/charges, information around accessible seating…and other important information.

You can read their full statement here.

With the cost of living constantly rising and with the uncertainty of fuel costs, the request for transparency is not unreasonable at all. With questions around the ethical practices around LIVENATION and Ticketmaster as of late, it would be a show of commitment to delivering a great quality live music product.

Even if you are not ARMY or not planning to attend the BTS concert, the support for more transparent practices and pricing with live music events will benefit everybody.

Nobody should be going into debt for a concert experience.

BTS will be bringing their AIRANG Tour to Australia in February 2027- their first time down under in almost ten years.

They will be playing two shows at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on February 12th & 13th before hitting up Sydney’s Accor Stadium on the 20th & 21st.

The first round of ticket sales will start on 2nd of June, with Official Fanclub Sales up first. You must register on the groups WEVERSE page by today, Wednesday, May 27th to be eligible. Click here to register.

Tickets will be available here. Mark your calendars for your applicable date, as this will sell out.
